Michael Jordan “G” Ad 1987 Slam Dunk Contest

Gatorade has continued its quest for its new name “G” to stick. We got a hold of this new ad that features the iconic image of Michael Jordan reverse-jamming from the 1987 Slam Dunk Contest that was held in Seattle.

Slow news day? Nah, the picture is a classic, and he’s wearing the O.G Jordan IIs, something we know all your sneaker-fiends go ga-ga over. If you missed the Lil Wayne narrated commercial that introduced “G”, hit the jump for a refresher.

Kanye West’s Semi-Full Louis Vuitton Collection

The red Kanye sneakers leaked last week, now one of ‘Ye’s favorite blogs Selectism was blessed with more clean shots of Mr. West’s low-tops.

You know the specs already; simple, low, with a bulky flap on the back so your tight jeans can be tucked in easily. Check the range minus the mustard colorway after the cut.

Kanye West And The Streetwear Elite Eat At KFC

Consider this video just another low-point in street wear history. While Obama and his staff were prepping for the big inauguration, another prestigious cabinet of people were gathering at KFC in L.A. for some fried chicken, and homeland security style strategizing.

TMZ caught an annoyed and “chilling” Kanye West, Matt George (Ransom, Goodfoot, Pastelle store curator), Chris Julian (Fruition) and Taz Arnold (Sa-Ra) coming out of the fast-food chain after the gang supposedly gathered for West’s Complex cover shoot. SAT analogy time… The Mafia: Sparks Steakhouse as The Streetwear Mafia: KFC. We all lose.

In this exclusive SoleBLVD video, Sylvester speaks on growing up in Queens and riding with his friends, as well as being sponsored by Nike and all the perks that come with it. Luckyyyy.

SOLEblvdTV Covers The Ecko Run DMC Party

A few weeks ago, Marc Ecko and Run DMC held a party to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the iconic Hip-Hop group. Low-run art pieces were on sale, and stars like Darryl “DMC” McDaniels came through.

For SB though, it was all about the party-goers footwear. Check out this video that features a bunch of standouts like the Jordan 1, colorful dunks, and of course, some old school adidas.

Kanye Louis Vuitton Shoe Re-Confirmed

Earlier in the week we pieced together some evidence about Kanye West’s forthcoming Louis Vuitton sneaker, and it turns out we nailed it. Today The Louis Vuitton Don confirmed that indeed his first LV-designed sneaker is a simplistic white-on-white low-top.

We’re not into patting ourselves on the back, but screw it, it’s a slow news day, and it’s Friday. Check the video that started it all below…

MAROK Nike 1World Project Interview

We just came accross this video that the homies at hype site High Snobiety put together. In it, the German artist Marok speaks about his 1World Project Air Force 1 for Nike. Marok is best known for starting Lowdown Magazine, and while his shoes at first seem a little boring, a little explanation from the former graf artist brings it into perspective. Check the jump for detail shots of the kicks, inspired by hunting and gathering (or in code, graffiti and street art).
